Zoom Integration with AuthPoint - How Do I Attend A Zoom Meeting With Id And Password?

In most other applications that use SP-initiated SSO, the application blocks users from logging in directly to the application account. Zoom offers automatic user provisioning. The following steps are specific to this application and are required in order to enable SSO. For information on optional configuration settings available in the Admin Portal , see Configure optional application settings. On the Search tab, enter Zoom in the Search field and click the search icon.

Next to Zoom , click Add. The Zoom application opens to the Settings page. On the Settings page in the Admin Portal , specify the following settings:. Enter your Zoom domain name. Configure this field if you are deploying a mobile application that uses the CyberArk mobile SDK, for example mobile applications that are deployed into a Samsung KNOX version 1 container. Note the following:.

The Application ID has to be the same as the text string that is specified as the target in the code of the mobile application written using the mobile SDK. If you change the name of the web application that corresponds to the mobile application, you need to enter the original application name in the Application ID field. The Application ID is case-sensitive and can be any combination of letters, numbers, spaces, and special characters up to characters.

Select Show in User app list to display this web application in the user portal. This option is selected by default. In the Identity Provider Configuration area of the Trust page, expand the certificate area and select the certificate that you want to use for the application, then click Download.

Open the certificate that you downloaded earlier in a text editor, then copy the contents and paste them into the web application's certificate field. This applies to automatic user provisioning. If the user who attempts to connect to Zoom does not yet exist in your Zoom account, Zoom creates a user account of this type automatically for the user.

On the Permissions page, click Add. Select the user s , group s , or role s that you want to give permissions to, then click Add.

The added object appears on the Permissions page with View, Run, and Automatically Deploy permissions selected by default.

Default permissions automatically deploy the application to the User Portal if the Show in user app list option is selected on the Settings page. Change the permissions if you want to add additional control or you prefer not to automatically deploy the application. Users can modify application settings and application sets.

Selecting this option also selects the View permission. Additionally, a user in a role with the Application Management administrative right can enable this permission to allow other users or roles without the Application Management right to administer the application. See Delegate application management for more information.

Add the Delete permission if you want a delegated application administrator to have the ability to delete applications. Allows users to launch the application from the User Portal. Automatically deploys the application to the User Portal.

If Automatically Deploy is not selected, users can find the application in the Recommended tab when adding applications to the User Portal. The Show in user app list option takes priority over the Automatically Deploy permission. For example, if Show in user app list is not selected, applications do not appear in the User Portal or in the Recommended tab even if you select the Automatically Deploy permission.

Use this option if the user accounts are based on user attributes. Also see Authentication security options for information on the option to use the password supplied by Active Directory users. Use this option if you want to share access to an account for example, some people share an application developer account. Users must have the View permission enabled. This can be helpful to users who may need offline access to the application. Use this option if you want users to supply their own user name and password.

This option only applies to some application types such as user password, custom NTLM, and browser extension applications. The first time that users launch the application, they enter their login credentials for that application. The CyberArk Cloud Directory stores the user name and password so that the next time the user launches the application, the CyberArk Cloud Directory logs in the user automatically. You can customize the user account mapping here by supplying a custom JavaScript.

For example, you could use the following line as a script:. Darwin acme. Username to Adele. For more information about writing a script to map user accounts, see the SAML application scripting. The issues were exacerbated by Zoom's widespread adoption at the start of the pandemic, but this was just the latest chapter in the software's rocky security history.

It prompted Zoom CEO Eric Yuan to respond to concerns in April , freezing feature updates to address security issues over a day update rollout.

Zoom saw explosive growth at the time, increasing its ranks from 2, to 6, employees from February to December By the end of Zoom's hiring boom, the software had become the first video communications client to attain Common Criteria certification, an international cybersecurity standard awarded after rigorous analysis. Though Zoom has added these and other security features like end-to-end encryption , there are still a few things you should watch out for to keep your chats as private as possible.

For paid subscribers, Zoom's cloud recording feature can either be a life-saver or a catastrophic faux pas waiting to happen. If the feature is enabled on the account, a host can record the meeting along with its text transcription and a text file of any active chats in that meeting, and save it to the cloud where it can later be accessed by other authorized users at your company, including people who may have never attended the meeting in question.

Zoom does allow a narrowing of the audience here, however. Administrators can limit the recording's accessibility to only certain preapproved IP addresses, even if the recording has already been shared.

Participants can also see when a meeting is being recorded. In the spring of , Zoom rolled out two privacy improvements aimed at making users more aware of whether a meeting is being recorded. During a meeting, you can now look at the bottom of your in-app chat window near the text field where -- if the meeting is being recorded -- you'll see the message "Recording On. Zoom also introduced a digital stop sign to alert people to bigger potential privacy exposures, in the form of a pop-up notification.

When entering a meeting that is being recorded or streamed live, a window will appear informing you of the meetings status and you'll first be required to consent to being recorded before you can proceed. Regardless of the account owner's settings, the notices are displayed to all guests that join a meeting or live streaming session outside the account's organization.

Fair enough. But what to do when Zoom gets caught sending some of your analytics data to Facebook -- whether or not you even have a Facebook account? Courtesy of Facebook's Graph API, Zoom was telling Facebook whenever you opened the Zoom app, what phone or device you were using, and your phone carrier, location and a unique advertising identifier. Motherboard also reported that Zoom had updated its iOS app so the app would stop sending certain data to Facebook.

In a March blog post , Zoom addressed the issue, noting "our customers' privacy is incredibly important to us, and therefore we decided to remove the Facebook SDK in our iOS client and have reconfigured the feature so that users will still be able to log in with Facebook via their browser.

As late as March , Zoom's privacy policy contained some breezy language about its relationship to third-party data crunchers, which gives one reason to question where else -- and to what extent -- that data was being shared or sold that we didn't know about.

We use these tools to help us improve your advertising experience such as serving advertisements on our behalf across the Internet, serving personalized ads on our website, and providing analytics services ," the policy said at the time.

But at the end of March, Zoom updated its privacy policy. In a statement following the move, Zoom said that while it wasn't changing any of its actual practices, it wanted to make its language clearer.
